Low Res Photo Intensive 2019
This exhibition brought together work from eleven artists (myself included), who participated in Gallery 44’s third annual Low Res Photo Intensive course. Over ten weeks we intensively developed our photography practices though collaborative exercises and collective learning. The works in our resulting exhibition were all representative of more extensive, ongoing projects. They were presented with the intention of opening up dialogue for larger conversations to come.
My image below, “Pease Sands Letter” is the first visual iteration of a new long-term project I have embarked on called, “The Bicycle Letters”. This project combines topographical and landscape images from Scotland that reflect the locations where my Grandfather wrote his letters to my Grandmother while on duty during The Great War.
