Carmichael Canadian Landscape Exhibition

My photograph, “Elevation” was juried into the 2020 edition of the Carmichael Canadian Landscape Exhibition: Tradition Transformed. I captured this image in Muskoka one late September day. I awoke at dawn and headed to the lake at sunrise. The morning mist swirled off the water’s surface and enveloped the swimming raft, making it appear to float in mid-air.

This juried exhibition is in recognition of Group of Seven member, Franklin Carmichael, who was born in Orillia. Now in its 19th year, the show calls on artists from across the country to submit work that embraces, challenges, comments, critiques, echoes, challenges, re-works or strengthens interpretations of Canadian landscape through the artist’s chosen medium.

The exhibition ran from October 3, 2020 until January 17, 2021.
